MACON, Ga. — A Bibb County grand jury has declined to indict a man accused of fatally shooting his stepson during a domestic dispute this summer, according to court records and the district attorney's office.

Pierre Williams was charged with murder in the June death of 21-year-old Couri Woodford at a home on Majestic Lane. Williams is now free after the grand jury decided last week not to move forward with a felony murder indictment.

Nikita Marcus, Woodford's mother and Williams' ex-girlfriend, said her son was protecting her when he was killed. She described a history of domestic violence in her relationship with Williams that continued even five years after their breakup.
