EL CENTRO — The Imperial County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 on Tuesday to allow a proposed cannabis dispensary with delivery services and an onsite consumption lounge in Winterhaven to move forward.

The project, submitted by Jamul-based WH Lounge, LLC, was previously denied after a July 23 Planning Commission vote fell short of the five-member majority needed for approval. The proposal received three votes in favor and two against, but four commissioners were absent from the meeting.

The applicant appealed that outcome, seeking approval of Conditional Use Permit #23-0018 and Variance #24-0001 for a site located at 509 Railroad Avenue in Winterhaven.
