A major UK airport is facing major delays after a fire erupted within one area, leaving crowds of passengers frustrated.
Part of Stansted Airport was forced to close after a "small fire" began in the Escape Lounge at 3.30am. The airport stated it was "quickly extinguished" by the Airport Fire Service, with no injuries to passengers reported.
Due to the smoke generated Stansted made the decision to evacuate the area with passengers stopped from accessing security.
Flights were also halted as the airport said 'health and safety is always the number one priority."
