NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Vice President JD Vance made an unannounced stop in the Triad on Monday, visiting the Richard Childress Racing Museum in Davidson County before heading to Concord for a scheduled campaign event.
The museum stop was not open to the public, but word of Vance’s visit spread quickly. Some residents began lining up as early as 6 a.m. in hopes of catching a glimpse of his motorcade.
Leah, a local mom, brought her 5-month-old son James Richard to the roadside.
“I think it’s awesome to have him out here in our little small town,” she said. “We’re so excited.”
Across the street, workers at Jimmy’s Smoke House stepped out from behind the counter to watch the motorcade.
