PORTLAND, Ore. — A child riding an e-scooter was critically injured Tuesday night after being hit by a car in Southeast Portland, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The crash happened around 7:38 p.m. at the intersection of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Lincoln Street in the Mill Park neighborhood, according to Portland police.
The child, a 9-year-old boy, was taken to a hospital by ambulance with critical, life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene, according to Portland police.
Police closed Southeast 122nd Avenue between Sherman and Mill streets while looking into the crash. The closure is still in effect as of Wednesday night.
