A 14-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday evening as crowds gathered at Columbia High School in Nampa for a Twitch streamer's visit, police said.

The Nampa Police Department stated that around 6 p.m., it received notice that a large gathering of people had gathered at the school, waiting to see a popular Twitch streamer, IShowSpeed, before his arrival. No issues arose while he was there, reports the police.

However, police said the incident happened when people were walking and running in the roadway during the content creator's departure, when the teen was struck by a full-size pickup truck unrelated to the Twitch streamer's entourage.

The driver initially fled the scene but called Nampa Dispatch about 90 minutes later
