GRAND RAPIDS, MI - In May, thousands of high school seniors across Michigan were gearing up to cross the graduation stage. Savannah Remijn was preparing to walk across two.
Remijn, now 18, was 17 years old when she graduated high school in May, and when she earned her bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Davenport University the same month.
“It usually shocks a lot of people,” Remijn said. “It wasn’t because I had to. I still hung out with friends, had a boyfriend and went to sporting events. I did everything a ‘normal’ high schooler would do — I just also finished college.”
The recent double graduate said this feat was possible through a combination of her strategic dual enrollment, summer courses, her homeschool education and a commitment to her curriculum.
