FLINT, MI -- The City Council approved a resolution this week petitioning the Flint Police Department to establish a special unit to enforce loitering and other nuisance ordinances, but Chief Terence Green said officers are already doing the work it calls for.
“The (unit in the) resolution is no different than what we’ve been doing for seral years,” Green said on Wednesday, Sept. 24. “We’ve been enforcing loitering in the parking lots of some of these party stores ... This can be handled with our regular road patrol and our special investigative unit.”
Council members approved their resolution during committee and regular meetings on Monday, Sept. 22, with supporters saying Green was in support of it and those who opposed it saying they wanted to hear that commitment directly from the
