A teenage boy told police he wrapped a kitchen knife in a hat in order to ferry the weapon into Carrick High School, where he ultimately stabbed three other students during a fight Wednesday morning, according to the charges filed against him.

Anthony Taulton, 16, is charged as an adult with three counts of aggravated assault and two weapons-related crimes.

The teen told police the incident began brewing three weeks earlier when his friend got into a fight with another student. Since then, he said, he’d been on a text thread that included “back and forth banter and threats made toward him by several other males whom he would not name,” according to the complaint.
