PORTLAND, Ore. — Umpqua National Forest hiking trails are set to reopen Friday after being closed for nearly a month due to the Emigrant Fire.

The fire, sparked by lightning, was first reported Aug. 24 and continues to burn at around 32,700 acres in remote terrain about three miles southwest of Indigo Springs Campground.

Officials closed several hiking trails, forest roads and recreation sites earlier this month due to fire risk.

Starting Friday, the following hiking trails will be reopen:

The Willamette National Forest still has closures in place for the Emigrant Fire.
