CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — As early flu and respiratory virus season approaches health department officials want to remind West Virginians of their immunization options.
Late September and early October are typically when influenza vaccines are distributed.
Officials say that rates of COVID-19 and Influenza A are on the rise in West Virginia.
According to Breatheeasy.wv.gov , a statewide respiratory illness dashboard maintained by the Department of Health, emergency room visits for influenza and COVID-like symptoms have increased roughly 3%, while outpatient visits for influenza and COVID hospitalization rates have both decreased by approximately 1%.
