KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say they are “actively pursuing” a suspect after an armed robbery in Kalamazoo Thursday.

Just after 9 p.m., the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety posted on social media that an armed robbery happened on Stadium Drive near Adios Drive in Kalamazoo. KDPS said officers were going after the suspect.

There would be heavy police presence in the area, according to KDPS. The department asked people to avoid the area.

It's not clear what led up to the robbery. Police did not release a description of the suspect.
