MADISON (WKOW) -- Dogs and their owners gathered at Hilldale on Thursday for "Yappy Hour," an event featuring a fetch area, dog-friendly vendors and caricature artists capturing pets and their people.

The event raised money for the Dane County Humane Society . Participants could donate $10 to support the organization's work, which includes helping stray animals get healthy and ready to be adopted.

Organizers are already preparing for the next Yappy Hour, set for Oct. 23.

"They're going to do another one in October for Halloween, so that should be a riot, because the dogs can wear costumes," said Marina Haan, a Humane Society volunteer. "We're really happy to be here, because every donation helps the Humane Society."
