DURHAM, Connecticut — Dozens of kids at the 105th Durham Fair were on the same mission Thursday.

Phase 1: get ice cream, smoothies or slushies. Phase 2: hit the wild rides.

“The best part is probably the rides, I like to go on the rides," Wyatt Rossito, of Middlefield, said. "My favorite is the guitar ride.”

“[The zipper ride] looks like a zipper, and it spins around and goes upside down," Blake Meadows, of Durham, said.

“[On the zipper], you spin upside down when you’re spinning," Isabella Grasso, of Durham, said.

Nervous?

“A little bit.”

New rides and menu items keep the fair fresh. You don't have turn your head to find the next wildly colored ride, or the nearest appealing scent down vendors' row.
