Storms are starting to move back into New Mexico Thursday with warmer temperatures. A storm system will bring widespread showers and storms this weekend.

Warmer weather moved back into New Mexico Thursday afternoon thanks to an area of high pressure developing overhead. Storms also moved back into southwest New Mexico today. Some of these storms dropped some very heavy rain from the Gila to Deming and near Hatch. The rain is letting up tonight. Another batch of thunderstorms will develop Friday afternoon. Storms are likely in western and southern New Mexico, with isolated storms in central parts of the state. Again a few storms in southwest New Mexico could drop heavy rain leading to flash flooding.
