A partial collapse at an abandoned two-story building in downtown Vienna has led city officials to close off neighboring properties until they can be inspected for safety.
Vienna mayor Steve Penrod issued an executive order after part of the top of the vacant structure at 124 N. 4th Street gave way just before 2 p.m. WFCN reported that the central interior of the building may have also fallenl in.
Businesses on either side of the fallen building, State Farm Insurance and Cross Creek Antiques, had to be closed for safety.
No injuries were reported.
Officials say the closures will remain in place until engineers evaluate the stability of the surrounding buildings.
