A fire caused by an unattended candle damaged a home in Danville Wednesday evening, displacing its occupants.
The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 10 Dula St. at just after 5 p.m., according to a news release from Battalion Chief F. D. Fowler.
Crews found a single-story residential structure with heavy smoke pushing from all four sides, according to the news release.
The home's occupants met crews in the yard and told them everyone was outside and accounted for, Fowler wrote in the news release.
There were no injuries reported and the occupants are staying with relatives.
Firefighters entered the home and attacked the fire, which was mostly in the attic space. It was brought under control in about 10 minutes, Fowler wrote.
