CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Two Republican S.C. gubernatorial candidates are calling their rival, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, to take down TV ads they claim falsely suggest she has earned two high-profile endorsements.

Attorney General Alan Wilson and U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, who are also running for governor, say the ads imply Evette has the endorsements of President Donald Trump and Gov. Henry McMaster in the 2026 race.

In the 30-second spot, Trump is heard praising Evette at rallies while McMaster appears on screen saying, “Pam is what South Carolina is all about,” and “I believe in Pam Evette.” A narrator chimes in with “handpicked by Henry McMaster.”

The quotes appear to be reused footage from McMaster’s 2018 campaign when he introduced Evette as his running mate. Neither Trump nor McMaster
