Scammers have stolen $74 from some vehicle owners in Uptown and downtown Oakland recently.

An unknown person or persons have printed phony parking tickets that look similar to official city of Oakland citations. The fake tickets have appeared on vehicle windshields in Uptown around Broadway and 24th Street.

The Oakland YMCA, which is located nearby, recently sent out an email alert to its members.
