CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) -- Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that ten counties in the Mountain State received a drought designation by the USDA.
According to a press release, an announcement was made by Governor Morrisey and West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) Commissioner Kent Leonhardt that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) gave ten counties in West Virginia a Secretarial disaster designation.
West Virginia’s farmers play an important role in our state’s economy, culture, and way of life. I want to thank the USDA and the Trump administration for stepping up to help West Virginians in need.
