BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - A motorcyclist was injured after hitting a deer on Great River Road Friday evening.

The driver, a 63-year-old man from LeClaire, appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to skid in the 18400 block of Great River Road around 7:20 p.m., according to a media release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the man wasn’t wearing a helmet and was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries. His condition is unknown.
