GRAND FORKS — Eliminating mistakes has been a primary focus for Grand Forks Red River one month into the season.

No. 2 Kindred made the Roughriders pay for almost every one Friday night at Cushman Field.

The Vikings scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and cruised to a 42-7 win, capitalizing on short field positions and turnovers.

"This has been the same thing we’ve experienced through the first four games," Red River head coach Vyrn Muir said. "Tonight, especially against a really good team like that — just like we had against Minot North a couple weeks ago and Horace the first game of the year — if we don’t do things right against a really good football team, it’s catastrophic."
