(WKBN) - Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease. However, there are ways to reduce your risk.

September is World Alzheimer's Month. Reports show more than 55 million people have the disease.

While the research is ongoing, it does appear that exercise may increase certain chemicals and neurotransmitters in the brain that are important for preserving brain health.

Dr. Dylan Wint, a neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic, says it can help slow the progression for those who have already developed Alzheimer's.
