Youths caused chaos in Hindley with items pelted at passing cars and disturbances breaking out on Saturday night (September 27).

Police were drafted in to the Wigan town after a large emergency services presence was seen on Cross Street and Market Street near to the Hindley Fair and Tesco supermarket.

A dispersal order was put in place following the multiple incidents , including 'alcohol-related disturbances' and 'youths throwing several items at cars'. The order gives police the powers to exclude a person from an area for up to 48 hours.
