VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Eight members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) who deployed Sunday morning in response to Tropical Depression 9 are returning home, officials said.

The team left at 4 a.m. after preparing the Incident Support Team (IST) cache for deployment and was expected to stage in Columbia, South Carolina, later in the day. However, due to a change in the weather forecast, the IST Cache is now headed back to Virginia Beach.

VA-TF2 is one of 28 FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Teams positioned across the country. The team has conducted search and rescue operations following numerous disasters.
