Mumbai, September 28, 2025: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh alerts as Maharashtra braces for another spell of heavy rains over the next two days. With rain activity remaining strong, 13 districts have been placed under Orange and Yellow alerts, raising concerns over possible flooding and disruption of normal life.
According to the forecast, Mumbai and its surrounding areas including Navi Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad are under an Orange Alert for September 29, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts have been issued a Yellow Alert. Intense rain is also expected across parts of North Maharashtra, particularly in Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, and Ahmednagar, where Nashik’s ghat regions face an Orange Alert.
