Mumbai, September 28, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for Maharashtra, warning of widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours. On Sunday, September 28, several regions including Konkan, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, North Maharashtra, and Vidarbha are expected to experience intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.

As per the IMD forecast, — Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, and parts of Pune (ghat regions), along with Nashik ghat areas. These districts are likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorms. Citizens in these areas have been urged to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow safety advisories.
