GRAND BLANC TWP., MI – A second person has died following a shooting Sunday, Sept. 28, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4285 McCandlish Road.

In an update provided via social media Sunday afternoon, Grand Blanc Township Police Chief Wiliam Renye said a second person died at a local hospital after being shot earlier in the day at the church.

The update brings the number of casualties to two, with eight others having been wounded. The suspected shooter, identified only as a 40-year-old Burton man, was killed during a shootout with police.

Hundreds were reportedly in attendance when the man rammed his vehicle into the and opened fire on those indise using an assault rifle.
