Tropical Storm Imelda formed on Sunday afternoon, becoming the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season's 9th named storm and triggering weather advisories in the Bahamas and Florida.

Located about 95 miles west-northwest of the central Bahamas as of 1 p.m. Sunday, Imelda was producing sustained winds of 40 mph and moving north at 7 mph, forecasters with the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

The NHC's latest track forecast shows the storm strengthening as it continues north through Monday. By Tuesday, the storm is expected to curve to the east-northeast away from the U.S., instead taking aim at Bermuda as a hurricane.

NHC forecasters, however, warned early Sunday morning that they have lower confidence than usual in the system's track.
