HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police said a man died and another was hurt after a shooting Sunday night.

The Hartford Police Patrol Division went to the area of Brook Street at 8:52 p.m. after receiving a notification from ShotSpotter, which is a gunshot detection system.

Officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said first responders brought him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second man with a gunshot wound had non-life-threatening injuries and brought himself to the hospital. Police said they determined he was also shot on Brook Street.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Division is investigating the shooting.
