WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — Five Connecticut firefighters who died while in the line of duty were honored at a memorial service in Windsor Locks Sunday afternoon.

Loved ones and colleagues attended the service to pay tribute to the firefighters who died protecting others.

The following names were added to the 357 firefighters inscribed upon the memorial outside the Connecticut Fire Academy:

Lewis C. Durgy - Newtown - Died 08/08/1933

Todd G. Gagnon - Cromwell - Died 05/22/2020

Robert Sharkevich, Sr. - Wethersfield - Died 10/22/2024

Peter J. Blomberg - Newtown - Died 10/28/2024

Raymond A. Moreau - Plainville - Died 07/27/2025
