BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - One person is seriously hurt and three others are injured after a crash on Sunday afternoon in Berrien County.

It happened just before 3 p.m. on Dwight Boyer Road near M-140 in Watervliet Township.

Police say first responders found the driver unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, three other people suffered minor injuries in the crash and were released from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, but police believe speed played a role in it.
