FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says investigators recently seized three firearms and equipment to make handguns fully automatic from a 16-year-old in an effort to crack down on youth violence.
Police shared the information in a Facebook post on Tuesday, saying its Gang and Violent Crimes Unit was recently made aware of a 16-year-old who had firearms illegally.
They say the investigation was part of their ongoing work to end youth violence in the community.
Following a search warrant service, police seized two handguns, an AR pistol, an AR upper, high-capacity magazines, and 300 rounds of ammunition. They also showed a photo of a 3D printer they say was used to create “Glock switches”, designed to convert Glock handguns to be fully automatic.
