MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A woman accused of murdering her two children, who have been missing for more than a decade, has been ordered by a judge to return to a mental health facility.
Catherine Hoggle faces two counts of murder over the 2014 disappearance of her children, 3-year-old Sarah and 2-year-old Jacob. However, while originally facing child neglect charges, Hoggle was deemed incompetent to stand trial in 2015.
Eight years later, Hoggle was committed to the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center in Howard County, and the original child neglect charges she faced were dismissed.
But according to Maryland law, a person found incompetent can only be held for three years on a misdemeanor. So when Hoggle was released in July, she was arrested days later after a jury indicted her on two co
