LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

On Tuesday morning, the main foyer of Muhammad Ali International Airport was crowded with more than 80 military veterans, all of whom had served in the armed forces during the Korean War or the Vietnam War.

They were there for the final Honor Flight Bluegrass mission of the year.

One of those gathered was Vietnam veteran Jim Hagan, who still remembers waiting for his flight from San Francisco to Louisville on his way home from Vietnam.

"Security guards came in and woke us all up and told us we didn't deserve to sit in the chairs, to sit on the floor," Hagan recalled. "I thought, what was going on?"
