Voters in the Town of Jean Lafitte in Jefferson Parish will elected a new mayor on October 11th.

Former mayor Tim Kerner Junior vacated the position after winning a seat on the Jefferson Parish Council last spring. Advertisement

Two people people qualified to run, Yvette Crain and Will Wyman.

Wyman is a firefighter in the town and Crain has worked in City Hall as a clerk. She serves as the acting mayor.

Crain declined to participate in our WDSU Hot Seat forum.
