NEW ORLEANS —

Planned Parenthood has closed its reproductive health clinics in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, marking the end of more than 40 years of service in Louisiana.

The nonprofit has provided birth control, tests for sexually transmitted diseases, cancer screenings, and other health care services. Advertisement

According to the Planned Parenthood website, these health centers were not providing abortion services.

The City of New Orleans Department of Health said it remains committed to protecting access to essential sexual and reproductive health care and has provided a list of available services.
