LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Lewisburg woman is facing charges after police say she left her 14-year-old daughter at Walmart and was later found with items linked to drug distribution.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Greenbrier County, officers were called around 2 a.m. on Sept. 26 after a report that a juvenile had been left alone at Walmart.

The child told authorities her mother, identified as 38-year-old Lola May Curfman, had left her there for an extended period of time.

When officers located Curfman at the Relax Inn, she was in a vehicle with a man later identified as Dustin Shorter. Police say Shorter fled on foot when officers arrived.

Deputies and a K9 attempted to track him but were unable to locate him.
