MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — On Tuesday, the Lower Valley Fire District (LVFD), alongside the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and its Search and Rescue team (SAR), responded to a paragliding accident in a remote area located in the western part of the region near Mack.

Through a rope rescue operation with SAR's assistance, the paraglider was stabilized. They were then transferred to a local trauma center by being airlifted by CareFlight 3 of the Rockies.

The LVFD described the incident as "a great example of multi-agency teamwork saving a life."
