The Detroit Tigers are on the doorstep of repeating a sweep.
The Tigers take on the Cleveland Guardians in Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series on Wednesday, looking to put away its opponent in two games — much like last season, when the Tigers ousted the Houston Astros in the wild-card round , a series in which the Tigers also had do it on the road.
The Tigers struck first in the series with a 2-1 victory Tuesday , behind a dominant performance from ace Tarik Skubal.
While the Tigers' batting order is unchanged from Game 1, the Guardians' order includes prospect Chase DeLauter making his major-league debut. DeLauter is batting seventh, and playing center field. DeLauter is ranked the No. 46 overall prospect by Baseball America, and No. 54 overall by MLB Pipeline.
