UPDATE (10/01/2025): Ouachita Parish officials have released additional information about the arrest of an officer of the Monroe Police Department, who was charged with Third-Degree Rape.

On May 12, 2025, Chad Prather's ex-wife contacted the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office in reference to an incident that occurred on March 29, 2025. According to court documents, Prather engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.

After the complaint was made, investigators reportedly contacted Prather regarding the incident, and no arrest was made. On September 26, 2025, Prather was indicted by a grand jury and arrested.
