NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - In a first for the Midstate, the new Women’s Comprehensive Cancer Center has opened in Midtown.

The Nashville facility is part of an expansion of Tennessee Oncology and Ascension Saint Thomas’s partnership. The medical providers announced the facility’s opening in a press release sent on Wednesday, which is also the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The center will offer “a seamless and compassionate experience for women facing breast, gynecologic (including uterine, cervical and ovarian), and blood cancers,” a press release from the partners said.

“Our goal is to make this a destination for women’s cancer care, where every woman can access personalized, expert care close to home,” said Dr. Natalie Dickson, president and CEO of Tennessee Oncology.
