A former Fort Providence resident is hoping to wow organizers of the Pow Wow Pitch competition with her homemade products, and in doing so, win a financial boost to help develop her business.
Wendy Landry, a member of the Deh Gah Got'ie First Nation, and now a resident of Kelowna, B.C., recently earned a spot as a finalist in the competition, scheduled for Oct. 22.
“Pow Wow Pitch is for inspiring people that want to start a business, or for people that are just starting, or it's for people that are trying to make a community impact. And for inspiring Indigenous people to get ahead, it's a great opportunity,” Landry said.
She started her business, Bebia Cho Foods, in May while on maternity leave.
She makes apple chips ‘with a twist’ from the abundance of apples in the Okanagan region. O
