HONOLULU (Island News) – A man is behind bars after an apparent stabbing resulted in another man being taken to a hospital on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the Chinatown area when a 34-year-old man got into a verbal argument with a 43-year-old man.

According to police documents, the argument escalated when the 43-year-old man allegedly stabbed the 34-year-old one time in his leg.

The 34-year-old man was then taken by the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The 43-year-old man was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree and remains in police custody, pending investigation.
