There was a large-scale response to an emergency incident in a street in Bristol city centre after a man was seen acting in a threatening manner this morning.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics attended Temple Street in the Redcliffe area at 10.37am today (Thursday, October 2).

Officers attended within minutes of the initial reports and engaged with a man.

He was safely taken into the care of the ambulance service.

No injuries have been reported to the emergency services.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to Temple Street in the Redcliffe area of Bristol at 10.37am today (October 2) to reports of a man acting in a threatening manner.
