It was another solid year of art sales at the 2025 Kivalliq Trade Show, according to Theresie Tungalik, an artist herself and an advisor for the Government of Nunavut since 2003.
Tungalik, who is also the first Inuk to be named as the national president and spokesperson of Canadian Artists’ Representation/Le Front des artistes canadiens, said this year's art sales at the Kivalliq Trade Show hit the $45,000 mark.
A good number of artisans submitted their work to the trade show again this year, she said.
"Unfortunately, some of the people from outside Rankin Inlet couldn't make it this year, but, the Rankin people, of course, filled up those spaces and we had about, maybe, 15 artists altogether," said Tungalik. "We had Coral people attend as well as people from Naujaat, Arviat and Baker L
