BOSTON, Ky. (WAVE) - Nelson County Emergency Management posted that the search for a missing hunter was successful.
At 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, dispatch received a call for a missing hunter in the area of Shady Lane in Boston.
Multiple agencies including the Nelson County Sheriff and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife arrived on scene. Because of the size of the search area, drone teams from Emergency Management and Nelson County Fire were requested.
Rolling Fork Fire Department’s UTV was requested for ground transport.
After a 90-minute search, drone pilots located the injured hunter 3/4 mile off road. The information was communicated to a search party on the ground.
The hunter was extracted and transported by EMS to a nearby school where he was flown to University Hospital.
