Dear Yadi and Lucas: My friend is always throwing theme parties. She wants and expects everyone to buy or wear outfits that are related to whatever theme she has come up with. This can be expensive. But if I decline the invitation she gets upset. Her parties are always enjoyable, and I consider her a good friend. I don’t know how to decline without hurting her feelings. I just can’t always afford to get themed-related outfits that I will never wear again. Not sure what to do.
