More temporary closures are coming to Washoe County libraries in October and November due to staffing shortages and budget uncertainty .

The Incline Village Library will be closed for the next eight Saturdays. The downtown library will close Friday, Oct. 3 and Oct. 10, and Sparks will close Sunday, Oct. 5.

In November, Washoe County's senior center library and Verdi and Duncan/Trainer community libraries will close Wednesday, Nov. 26.

A few library branches closed for in September for the same staffing problems.

Assistant County Manager Dave Solaro told the library board on Wednesday, Oct. 1 that closures were necessary because of the library system's 20 vacant positions. Those jobs can't be filled until the library's 2027 budget is presented and approved by the county commissioner
