JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – First responders responded Thursday morning to a report of an individual stranded down an embankment after his vehicle became stuck on a soft shoulder, according to Junction City Fire and Rescue officials.
Junction City fire personnel said road crew workers en route to the area for culvert maintenance discovered a vehicle stuck on the side of High Pass Road. The workers discovered an elderly man who was disoriented and hypothermic down the hillside. The work crew then drove until they had cell service before calling 911 and informing dispatchers of the man and his car’s location, authorities said.
Fire officials said the man was transported to an area hospital for a medical evaluation.
